My bigger surprise, beyond the poor quality control at RIC, is that RIC BASSES were DISCOUNTED at Musicians Friend? I thought RIC's were always
exempt from the "deals" at Musicians Friend? Even more-- I MISSED IT?

Brian, my 4003 from the sale came in perfect, but since you feel that RIC has poor quality control, why would you care that you missed the sale

That's so tragic. My replacement JG arrived with a cracked case, but the bass itself was just fine. I guess UPS interpret "FRAGILE" as a challenge.

Yeah really! I'd also like to know how Mr. Murphy became an expert authority and know it all of quality control being poor at RIC.

I recall, from last summer, some folks on another forum that talks about basses that mentioned this as something for which WE were responsible (the smashed 4003 MID). In fact, I notice there are people out there that still hold that "opinion."

Such people are sadly representative of a fraction of the population in which reason is an absent trait. They're everywhere, unfortunately, as are their cousins, the ideologues.

damn hope my new JG is ok...the box looks ever so slighly mangled on the bottom...hopefully just from standing it up repeatedly.

Actually, their quality control has gotten higher than it already was because of the CNC machine.

I have a 2010 mid & didn't have any issues with it..when I picked it up at the music store it was still sealed in the cardboard box.
