Folks,

Rickenbacker content: very little; 1 Les Paul, 1 Strat, 1 lady bass player, and me, a Ric player on the drums. It could be worse. I played with a drummer who enjoyed practical jokes. I used to wait until he was really into some high hat work during a verse. Then I'd hook my foot on the floor tom crash & drag it about a foot from where it was. When the chorus came He'd go to crash on a cymbal that wasn't there. He got really good at adjusting knobs with a drumstick when I was upfront singing.

Oh yes, those guitar players, you gotta keep your eye on em all the time. I played with 2 guitar players that would crash a cymbol with the neck of their Strats. It always made me smile, because they could never quite hit it on beat. In addition we were making some good money, and if they ever messed up any equipment it would be easier to replace the equipment, then to lose a great paying drum job by becoming uptight with it.

The drummer whose set I borrowed must play very lighlty, because those drums slid across the floor every 30 seconds.
Its probably in the equipment since most drum sets stay relatively stationary with the factory hardware all attached.

I will never be as good a guitar player as I was on drums, but the guitar has just a wonderful invention, so I own and play a few of them.
