Alternative case for Rickenbacker 325c58 with Bigsby

Post by Medicus1963 »

Hello,

i have the problem, that the original vintage case does not close proper after i have installed the Bigsby B5 on it.
Does anybody know other cases to protect this guitar with Bigsby ?

thank you for your help!

As in it doesn't want to close easily because the guitar is "thicker" with the vibrato?

If so, I would advise to continue using it. The internal case padding will adapt to the guitar shape and bed down around thte vibrato over time.

RIC never made a thicker 325 case and any other RIC case would be way too large for the body and short scale of the guitar.

Try moving the Bigsby arm down toward the bottom corner of the case before you close it.

+1. Moving the Bigsby arm to about "5 o'clock" puts the tip of the arm right in the corner, resulting in minimal downward pressure when the case is closed.

As others are indicating, the factory case absolutely will work on a Bigsby-equipped 325c58. I keep mind in the 4 or 5:00 position.

I need a new case for my 325C58. I'm not excited about spending $250 for a genuine Rickenbacker case. The guitar flops around in a Strat/Tele case. Does anyone know how it would fit in a Traveler Guitar case or a Washburn Rover case? Or any other suggestions for a better fit?

Wait, hold up.... You have a $3000 guitar and you won't spend less than another 10% of that price on a case to protect the thing?

Your excellent guitar deserves a better life than that, just saying...

Did any of you guys ever find an alternative case that works with the c58?

Even with the Kauffman, I'm still finding the stock case to be a poor fit. The amount that I have to push on the case to close it is disconcerting.
