Until the board is officially renamed the Jake and Ivan Resource Forum, it's not likely to happen.

For 12 years we have done our very best to be considerate of our readers while at the same time allowing posters to express their opinions. This is a challenging task but at the end of the day we have such a high regard for Rickenbacker products we feel that our efforts have been well worth it. I thank all who continue to visit and comment on their passion while continuing to show a healthy respect for others who may be less worldly and knowledgeable. We are all students of life.

However, it's now been "approved" here for all to use, after I got a bit PO'ed about it.

WTF? indeed.
Mr. John Hall, a great honor to have you in this thread.

Don't give Ivan any ideas. After all, the pets section has gone from sarcastic comment to ironic subforum reality.

FWIW, Jake wrote me recently (approximately two weeks ago) and basically said goodbye, at least for a while. It seems he has had enough of having every post sandbagged by one individual in particular and the ensuing remarks that he increasingly found to be cutting and bordering on abusive.

He asked nothing from me in this regard and made it clear that he did not want to engage in any heated debate with his detractor and in some instances detractors who also piled on. In short he did not want to cause any upset, which to me demonstrated remarkable restraint and maturity.

Jake really enjoys being a member of this board for the most part. For that reason alone, I believe he will come back after his self imposed hiatus. The bottom line: Sometimes our actions are hurtful to others even if that was not our intent at the time.

He did visit the forum today btw.

That's a total bummer. :( Jake's a great young bloke. He deserves better....

On a completely unrelated topic.. My AV scanner (Macafee) came up with a virus alert and then deleted this thread sucks.jpg as soon as I hit the page with those graphics.

Norton AV caught that on my PC also... It tried to execute on access of the page I loaded. Unfortunately I don't remember which.

I have asked Gil to look at the thread John. It would appear that it emanated from the JPG that Kenny posted.

Yes, that's what my virus program reported.
