I think it's a color applied to one of the recent one-off models. Either that or it's a recent, limited edition run colour for the UK.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the color that the brown burst 4004Cii one-off was done in, which is the same finish as a number of special order instruments for the UK.

I think this color is breathtaking. It even surpasses what I have come to expect from the creators at RIC. Red guitars are as common as Stratocasters but this red...Well it's really somethin'!

I did a cursory set up this evening and for now will keep the RIC strings on the bass until after rehearsal this coming weekend, then I will decide between TI Jazz Rounds or Jazz Flats. The bass sounds fabulous, the tone control covers a lot of ground, the bridge pickup can do the Jaco thing if I want it too (sound-wise, talent not included  ). The neck feels a lot nicer (to me) than my former Cii, not nearly as chunky so I am good to go. :D I only wish it were here last week as I could have used it on my two gigs this past weekend. :(

Ruby is an amazing finish, and it very much changes around depending on the light falling on it, with an inner radiance. 8)

Have you seen Joey's thread? Amazing that we both got our basses on the same day, as Joey noted, this is truly a Ruby Tuesday!
