V63 vs C64

Re: V63 vs C64
I prefer the sound of the C64.
Most of the difference is probably due to the cap, which the C64 has and the V63 does not. With the cap present, the two pickups interact differently, and I'd say the toaster gets a fairer hearing. C64 gives me less output, but a stronger sound.

On stage the biggest sounding basses I have are my RM1999 and my 4008, strangely enough they have the weakest pickups of all my basses!bluewhale wrote:C64 gives me less output, but a stronger sound.
Output does not always equal power.....
Eden.
I confused Faraday's cage, with Schrodinger's cat box....
Re: V63 vs C64
funny how that works,isn't it?
my danelectro bass has REALLY weak pickups, but sounds huge.
the hi gain in my 4000 is probably much weaker than current higains, but it also sounds really marvelous, with a lot of clarity.

It has three flat Grovers and one wavy. And it's too pricey...but that's just awesome.
