is there such a thing as a flat chrome mounting ring for the standard Ric or DeArmond (Gretsch) guitar pickups? say you want to face-mount the pickups on a Les Paul ... how would you go about this without filling the hole slightly?
I want to use a chrome ring to be able to mount two similarly sized Ric/Gretsch pickups (via the middle screws) to the ring itself, and then face-mount the pickup via the ring's 4 screws on a guitar with larger humbucker sized holes. this way I cover up the holes but maintain the look that its a face-mounted pickup (basically the chrome ring that will serve to expand the lip/edge of the pickup so I can flush-mount them over a humbucker hole).
... will a mini-humbucker mounting ring, (similar to this one) work? reason I'm asking is most internet sites don't give precise measurements. I'm probably better off finding parts in person and trying them on for size.
Ric pickup mounting rings?

Stewart MacDonald, www.stewmac.com , sells pickup rings for TV Jones pickups. They are Gretch repos. See if that helps you.

Paul that's quite an amazing Bass collection. WOW
As for the lipstick tube pick-ups mounted on a Rick, I'm sure it could be done, I have no info on mounting rings but I would think if you measure the thickness of the P-ups and then measure your body/string clearence, see if they fit, if not then the body would have to be routed
