I got this on Ebay a couple of days ago. It's a Fender USA Bullet made around 1981. Notice the one piece aluminum pickguard/bridge designed by John Page

I remember these. They didn't get a lot of respect at the time, but I guess they've gathered some collector interest by now. Doesn't sound half bad, actually.

Most people don't know what these are.The problem is Fender used the "Bullet" name on many different models of import budget guitars

Like my 1987 Squier Bullet.That guitar has a 3/4 strat style body and trem



Like the second version of the Fender USA Bullets made in 1982 and 1983(but those all have tele shaped headstocks).

Fender Bullet... I remember them well.
They were the Fender budget/beginner guitar of the late 70s/early 80s. Not so popular, mostly because people would rather buy a ****** lookalike than a better quality guitar that looks a little different.
They were about £110 in the UK, when you could get a plywood Strat copy for around £100. Fickle things people...
Gibson have recently had another stab at the Melody Makers and mark my words, they will disappear from the range in the next 12 months - people can buy a decent Far Eastern Les Paul copy (eg. Vintage V100 or their own Epiphones) for £200 less, so they aren't going to fork out £500 for a plank with a Gibson logo on the head.

The Bullet may not be a collectors piece in the same sense as a 55 Strat or 58 Les Paul, but there are plenty of collectors of the more unusual instruments and by the very nature of the type of guitar these were designed to be, there won't be many around. It's only going to rise in value, it's a decent instrument and it's somethinga bit different.

Not sure, he's currently disarming bombs in Cambodia that never blew up for some peace corp type group I think. I haven't really seen the guy since we went our seperate ways in High School. I'll try to find out though.
