I just noticed that Bacon says in the caption to the picture that the JB prototype was built in 1992. So it seems we've got it right!

There's a Jackson Browne Limited Edition prototype wanna-ba for sale on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Rickenba ... 0842818732

It's nicely done, converted from a 1986 azureglo 610.

What's not right about it?

It's based on a 610, so it has 21 frets instead of 24, a thinner body with rounded edges, no tailpiece carve, a short raised-letter TRC that's been painted gold, and the bridge and pickup spacings are wrong. Its two Hi-Gain pickups were made in 1986 so they don't have the plastic bobbins. The switch tip is white plastic instead of chrome.

Gee, it sounds like I'm pretty interested in the JB prototypes!

I think Larry Davis may have done that one. Wonder why the guy is selling it after going to the trouble of having it modded?
Great Ramp In My Opinion.
