And I noticed the 381 has no jack plate! Most others seem to have one.

I wonder if these guitars have serial numbers, or if they were donated as "blank canvases" for Free People, not production instruments per say? Some of them seem to be unfinished or with a much more matte finish than usual(maybe to help the paint/markers stick?). Some of the fretboards are glossed out, though, so who knows. The auction descriptions are very light on actual guitar details, they mainly describe the artwork/artist.

It's a very cool thing for RIC to do, I hope they bring a nice purse at auction.
Great Ramp In My Opinion.

I love the instruments, but really, really dig the cause.

Rickenbacker did themselves proud on this one.

I too found the initial link on my FB wall

A great idea and a highly creative project. These instruments are very unique and it will be fun to see where they find a home. Ben was the artwork done at the Factory?

No, we sent the instruments as they requested to Free People/URBN in Philadelphia and their in-house artists did the artwork.

Thanks Ben, surely one of the coolest things associated with Rickenbackers.

Did any forum members bid on and win any of these auctions?

I bid on the 650 for Juliana, but somehow got sniped in the last minutes. Bidding process was a bit slow compared to Ebay, it seemed... :(
