Yes, it was thicker than the modern Ricks we are used to.

As this site states,
http://www.rickresource.com/rrp/lennon325.html
Lennon's 325 Capri was "natural/honey finish 4/5 scale solid top guitar, alder body and neck, 2" thick"

Rick's current Model 325C58MG is 2.03" thick (same difference)

The Model 350V63 Liverpool (I have one) is only 1.5" thick

June 1964, Melbourne Australia. At Festival Hall. The Hall is still there today, (I drove past it about 3 hrs ago!)
My mother was having her hair done at The Southern Cross Hotel at the very moment The Beatles arrived at the same hotel. She couldn't understand what all the fuss was about.

HA!..... reminds me of the stories people tell of when the Beatles would visit small towns in England circa 61 and 62. Old folks today remember that they wondered what all the loud noise and fuss was all about.

Now to get back to work on my time machine........

One of my favorite photos of The Beatles is the Cavern shot of the boys as the appear at the end of the tunnel.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Jake, any info on that top, color photo of George playing the Tennessean? What strikes me as really odd is that he is wearing such dirty blue jeans, while Ringo is in suit and tie! I can't see Brian "allowing" him to perform dressed like this, and there seems to be quite an audience for a soundcheck. (Oops - just noticed the lack of guitar cord... Setting up camera angles perhaps?)

According my Beatles book the photo is from 28.3.1965 ,,Thank your lucky stars" show. I have few other photos from that show. Only George was wearing jeans, Paul, John and Ringo were in suits.
