i'm going after budget living and becoming a better guitarist!! :D

actually my 2nd dream guitar is, sadly, not a rickenbacker. but a 6 string jetglo is still in the top 5.

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Congratulations! Now--a rule on this forum is--pics or it didn't happen! (OK, not really--but we'd all love to see some pics of your Rickenbacker if you've got 'em!) Did you get the 360-12?

An 83 puts you into vintage land :-)
They're different on the "inside"... You should have X-bracing instead of carved in...
Very cool, and somewhat rare...
I may be daft, but did you post any pics?

Oh yeah to the questions- Playing for 35+ years. Have various Rick 12s for 34 of those years.....One of which was an 83 360/12B

Cheers,
chef

the good news is maybe by the next one, i'll magically be playing this thing very well.

i keep staring at it. it's just a beautiful thing. the brownish fireglo is just heaven and i LOVE the binding and pointier shape. i understand the point of these was to be somewhat reissues of the 60s versions? but man i just love that R tailpiece too... i love george harrison, but uh, don't feel the need to pretend i'm him. just inspired by. this is really my soulmate guitar :D

bay area people, let's hang another time! can someone take me on as their rickapprentice? 8) i want a crack at those 6 strings. frankly, i would love to play (ok, "play") a bass too! they have one at thin man music in alameda, but honestly, guitar shops terrify me and i don't feel comfortable or welcome playing in them at all.

i wonder if anyone specializes in cleaning up vintage hard cases? this one could use some TLC.
