That is some nice maple there! A lot of potential. Can't wait to see it cleaned up!

Beautiful piece of wood! Can't wait to see it all gussied up. Love the bathtub 'laboratory' too! You're either A: a bachelor, B: have a tub in your workshop or C: have a VERY cool wife! If I tried that in the house I'd be laying face-down in the front yard with that Ric sticking out of my nether regions....

Indeed, Tony! You have a very cool wife!fran4001 wrote:...or C: have a VERY cool wife! If I tried that in the house I'd be laying face-down in the front yard with that Ric sticking out of my nether regions....

Almost looks like someone poured melted chocolate on it!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

We're overlooking the fact that either Tony has two bathrooms, or doesn't need to shower much.
Tony, I just hope it's completed by my birthday in Nov.
Definitely some nice wood on that beast. Enjoy!

That headstock photo is iconic and truly a thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing it Tony.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Was the body all JG? or did the prev. person leave some maple exposed on the body/opticnerve wrote:Headstock pic...
I think the combo black on the headstock wings and natural in the middle looks pretty cool! (not as cool as what your probably gonna do with it though)

Re: DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!
You're welcome Peter, but that's a pic of the re-fin. Here are some more before pictures.
I'm sure some of you will remember this bass. It was discussed here when it was up on Ebay.
Yes Ken, only the wings were painted. The middle had a clearcoat.

Re: DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!
Also, Why is the fingerboard so dark? Was that taken down and refinished also?
