I would love to have one of his AUB-2s (I think that is the fretless model he makes).
Re: 3000/3001 Models
You should see the amount of work that goes into these Jeff. He makes EVERY single piece of the intsrument himself in his shop except part of the Schaller supplied tuners. He originally made a run of about 70 basses for Ampeg with their name on the guard. They've given him permission to continue, and they are truely a work of art far surpassing the original.

A handsome looking double neck Dane. Thanks for sharing.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Not sure what else to add to the posting here. Other than I LOVE!!!!!mine. I am first owner of the 3000 and 3rd owner of the 3001. I am grateful the the previous owners took such good care of her as she is still beautiful. Weight is not a bother either I like the feel of a good Woody instrument.... My new bass player has a 3001 in burgundy. How rare is that? He promised to bring it around to practice; when he does I'll grab some pics. He says it plays similarly to my 2030. Which means fast and smooth.

There's a birds-eye Walnut 3000 on the bay right now:

This is my friend Nick with his 3001. The maple pickguard replaces a broken white one. It looks pretty good in person. His burgundy is from 1977.

That is one tasty looking pick guard!
Re: 3000/3001 Models
I used to have two '76 3000s (white and mapleglo) and a '76 3001 (jetglo). IMHO the 3001 was very Fender-ish, but the 3000s had a sound of their own. I liked them because of Mani of Stone Roses/ Primal Scream. Nice basses, but I didn't played them that often so I sold them to buy other things. But the 3000 is great and I had a lot of bass players asking about them and complimenting me about my tone.

Re: 3000/3001 Models
Good vibes everyone,
I'm new to the forum and wanted to show off my little 3000. I've had this for about 25 years and choose it over my 71 P bass any day. I registered it yesterday and had issues uploading photos. Is it possible to change your registry entry? I look forward to getting in on the future discussions.

Nah, you can do that on some early '70's 4001's and on 4002's.BAD RONBO, KiLLeR DWaRfS wrote:you can hit that often sought high "E" on the "G" string ???![]()
