Re: made in usa and push pull pot stickers
I buy Rickenbacker instruments because they are my favorites. I leave the "Made In USA" sticker on, because I'm tired of seeing so many products that used to be made in the USA, now being made elsewhere to maximize profits for greedy company stockholders and leaving many of my fellow Americans and their families without an income. As cheaply as these products are made elsewhere, they still carry the same street price, even after the transition of production to the much less costly factory. I'm proud to play my favorite instruments that are still made with high quality and pride, practically in my own home land. The Made in USA sticker doesn't look too out of place on an HB-1 pickup anyway.Colonel Sanders wrote:Do you buy a Rickenbacker because primarly these are fantastic instruments and you like the sound/look or do you buy these because these are made in the USA?
Living in Australia, I could not give a wank or two on where these are made. I buy Rickies because I like these beasts. They could be made in Burkina Fasso for all I care!

Re: made in usa and push pull pot stickers
Well said Joey!
On both my new basses, I left the made in the USA sticker on. First off because I think it looks nice and secondly, because I'm proud to have purchased something made in America. I read somewhere that if every American purchased and item worth a few hundred dollars that was made in America, we'd pull ourselves out of the recession we are in. I purchased two new Rickenbacker's last year so I've done my part!
And happy to have done so. I did not buy Rickenbacker strictly because they are made in the USA, but it was a very nice side benefit.
Oh, I pulled the Made in the USA sticker off the hb-1 on my 4004 and put it on the bridge, I thought it looked better there. Personal preference and I sometimes like to be different!

Re: made in usa and push pull pot stickers
I all honesty; what difference does it make that he wants to obtain the stickers that he had on the bass. Why would that be such a foolish thing to some? It makes no difference at all why he wants to replace them; he just does. If I could assist him in finding some; I would. I sure as heck, am not going to flame him for it. Sheesh. Lighten up a touch.

Those of us who collect and play guitars do all sorts of things to "dress up" our instruments. If just one famous contemporary player had a sticker on his guitar there would be a line longer than tickle me Elmo to get them.
It is always interesting to me how the smallest of things can bother others, whether it be a pick guard screw, a spring, a saddle or a sticker.
I quite agree that we could step back a bit about some stickers.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Ken,
I wish I had one of those Made in The USA stickers kicking around, because if I did............it would be yours at no charge.
Hopefully someone will provide you with one, or even possibly assist you to obtain one. I would hazard an educated guess, that there are a few people on this board that may be in a position to assist in some manner.

I think if they were to be made elsewhere in the world, they wouldn't be made at all.tinman 1967 wrote:

On my friends CS, the sticker has been stuck on the certificate, he's very glad it didn't get stuck on the paint somewhere

Yeah, I mean.. Im not laying awake at night worrying over the made in america sticker or anything. I just thought it might be neat to have it back on the bass. If not? No big deal..
