Hate,hate,hate the C word. Very sorry to hear this,all you can hope for at this point is a smooth,painless transition for him. He and the Band were truly icons of early rock/ americana. Very sad,indeed.

Sad news...Yahoo has reported that Levon Helm, drummer for The Band, has died from throat cancer...he was 71. RIP Levon.

I saw The Band in the mid '70s. RIP Levon.

I saw him with the Bob Dylan comeback tour of '74. The Band gave a magnificent performance. One of the great voices of Rock, Levon Helm.
