Help identifying this guitar?

Re: Help identifying this guitar?
This is a 1997/335S in what has been called Redburst or Moonglo, but I believe as John suggested the proper name for this finish is Autumnglo. But it is so different from what we normally think of as Autumnglo I think it deserves its own name. So I go with Redburst.
I have a guitar in the same finish a few #s away, FB416, purchased long ago from a UK seller. Here it is on the Register: http://www.rickresource.com/register/vi ... hp?id=7815
And a pic or two for the thread: Here's a trio of "regular" soundhole Redbursts/Autumnglos, all from 1968:

FB410 was shipped to Rose Morris on February 9, 1966. It's listed, along with 25 other instruments as a Model 335S Fireglo, with 1997 in brackets. This was part of a larger shipment that also included Models 345S (1998) and Models 4001-S (sic) (1999).

Where are all the 1966 RM1999's?
Re: Help identifying this guitar?
Dead and gone, all having been strung up with heavy Rotosounds and beat to death, their owners trying to be Chris Squire.sloop_john_b wrote:Where are all the 1966 RM1999's?

Ah, well, then, we should be able to follow our noses to find them, looking in the darkest, wettest cellars, sniffing for beer, cigarettes, and mold.

Re: Help identifying this guitar?
Here is another version of a mid-60's Autumnglow guitar, earlier than what we see in '66..
This 365 O.S. is from early 1965 (Feb, IIRC) and is more like the traditional AG finish, i.e. "brown" (pre-Fireglow)....I suppose it could be argued that it's a really dark FG finish.....YMMV...
This guitar also has a square heel...

IIRC, this guitar once belonged to Dave Kim and has a Sceusa neck.leftybass wrote:Here is another version of a mid-60's Autumnglow guitar, earlier than what we see in '66..

I remember that one too. Would look mighty fine with gold guards and tv knobs....
Leftybass, do you have a pic of the headstock?

Re: Help identifying this guitar?
So...by Feb. of '66, Rose Morris guitars were using the silver top knobs. Were they used any earlier by RM?
