Hi Folks I'm a newbie soon to be Ricky owner, just purchased am 83 4003 and I have to say I'm very excited about it, no doubt I'll be on the forum pestering people for info.

Welcome! Interestingly, your's is the second White early 4003 with mixed binding to come up for discussion in the last few days:

That's just what I need another bass obsession. The missus can't get in the front room for all the basses and double basses thank goodness we are moving to a bigger house!
