Eddie you are right. Let's savour the moment.

Tim, don't feel too badly. We are just temporary caretakers of these guitars. They (most of them, anyway) will be around long after we are gone. And they won't be pining away after us . . .

Cheered you right up, didn't I?

...I recall my first Rick (an '80's MG 330) had the all black trimmings (high gain covers, plastic , bridge cover, R etc)....so I suppose anything is possible :P Better get the spray can out....

...mmmmm.......I'm not sure that's a great advert for a Union Jack pickguard

I'm thinking a Fireglo respray and flag Jacket looks a whole lot better........ 8)

This white on white doesn't work for me... the contrast is all wrong between the two types of white. What if you did pearloid white scratch plates... or something bold like coloured scratchplates. This white set is an insult to the guitar, imo!

Thanks for the input Werner. White-on-white is not one of my favourite looks either, not least for the reason you mention. In the spirit of adventure I thought I'd try it out anyway. However, to my eye, and regardless of colour, the incorrectly shaped factory fitted guards were a much bigger "insult" to a guitar of this quality (although I'm not convinced an inanimate object can be insulted!). Keep watching this space and you will see some options which may be more to your taste over coming days...

First, Tim at Sound Affects (who BTW has been an absolute gentleman to deal with) made it clear to me this week that if there was anything about the final spec of the guitar that I was unhappy with, then I did not have to go ahead with the purchase. As you can see from my pictures and comments I was more than pleased to give this guitar a home exactly the way it is......
So that's why you changed to pick guard and control knobs as soon as you got it?
Sorry mate but the white pick guard looks terrible. You have a beautiful, rare as hen's teeth guitar on your hands, LEAVE IT ALONE AND JUST PLAY IT!!!!
