Looks like a piece of ****. If it's a Dakota it's hard to tell but I think its a Heinz 57

Wow... Here's a question I can actually answer... It's actually MY favorite Ric to play... It's a 230 Hamburg with the world's worst paint job... This must have been owned by someone that OD'd on the 60's....

Didn't the Hamburg have only a single vol. and tone control with the small C&K selector switch for the pickups? This guitar has vol. and tone controls for each pickup and the big toggle switch for the pickups. That would make it an 250 El Dorado.

The 230GF has only two controls, so I think that Jps is correct.

I saw that one on Ebay about 5-6 months ago...acid-induced paint job and all. At least you could really rock out with it and not worry about blemishing a perfect paint job!

The 230 & 250 both have 2 tone and 2 volume controls. The 220 and 260 as well as the 230GF model have one volume and one tone control.
The 250 and 260 are the "deluxe" versions. If this guitar has a bound body it is a 250, if not a 230.

I was basing it on the 230 GF Hamburg. I stand corrected.

Funny, had this instrument been in the hands of a famous player, its customized finish would be sought after and emulated by fans around the world.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

The Rodney Dangerfield of Rickenbackers... the 200 Series "gets no respect."

I like the 2-knob models:
1992 220 Hamburg (Midnight Blue)
1993 260 Eldorado (Fireglo)

I really enjoy playing my 230 Hamburg and 230F... I'm currently searching for a 260 El Dorado to add to my collection...

As yes Peter, you are correct... If it had been owned by someone famous it would change the whole outlook on this guitar... Doesn't mean it's not still ugly!!! Don't think I'd be caught dead at a gig with it but then again a gig might be just the place for this guitar...

Two words: belt sander.
You want to put that where?
