Picked up my ruby lefty 370/12 w/toasters today
I started playing guitar when i was 14 or so on a guitar my dad got for me and worked all summer to pay him back. I eventually stopped playing and gave away my amp and sold my trusty Les Paul Custom.
Anyway after a bad breakup last year i started to play again for some reason and my interest in playing guitar really got rekindled. I had always wanted a Rickenbacker, i've known people with 330's and loved the sound, guys in my fav bands have always played Ricks. But i've never seen many lefties around, i've bid on a few on ebay and searched online but i've always been outbid or called shops the day after the guitars have sold. I saw or heard about the lefty production starting back up and last month headed to Alpha music in Virginia Beach and placed an order for a 330, 360 and a 660. Rick got back to Alpha and told them no on the 660 (though maybe toward the end of the year, or 2013..awesome!) so i switched out my order for a 370/12 LH in Ruby imagining i'd be waiting a good amount of time before i got any of my guitars.
I was shocked when Alpha called just over a week ago and said rick had been in touch saying they had 370/12 in Ruby with toasters ready to go if i wanted it...so of course i said yes and i picked it up today and it is amazing, i'm over the moon with it and all the guys at Alpha were awesome, if you need gear or advice all the folks at Alpha are really good, i've got very limited knowledge and they've all taken the time to explain things...can't recommend Alpha in VA Beach enough. I'm borrowing an amp from a friend until Alpha can get me one ordered in (i just moved here from the UK a few months back, no gear with me) and i can't wait to get playing this guitar.
Thanks to all at Rickenbacker for making such a fine instrument and big thanks to those at Alpha for helping me get one of my dream guitars far, far sooner than i had expected. Anyway here is a quick pic:

Wow! Very pretty, and I'm just a bass player. Welcome to the RRF! A new leftie in a "new" color would be hard to find these days! Congrats!

Great looking Ruby Rick and cool photo from RIC.
Did anyone else notice the unfinished "Lemmy" bodied 6 string or the unusual bass hanging in the background?
Could these be future RIC-Outlet offerings on eBay?

Hard to say, but Ben did mention once that the Lemmy 6 was "just a bad idea" a while back...krick wrote:Great looking Ruby Rick and cool photo from RIC.

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Surely not when it will be some day in the RIC-Outlet with all effects beside it.cjj wrote:Hard to say, but Ben did mention once that the Lemmy 6 was "just a bad idea" a while back...krick wrote:Great looking Ruby Rick and cool photo from RIC.

Phil, I'm glad to see another lefty join the RRF. Welcome aboard and & congratulations on the 370/12 LH Ruby. I let my '08 660/12 LH FG go last year, but I want a 660 LH whenever they become available.

A rare beauty. It's great that lefties are back in the production cycle.
If there isn't a 12 string Rickenbacker playing at my funeral, I'm leaving.
