Re: Burning Spear
Dope? Peter, you're funnier than you know right now. I hope the OP is laughing, too.
I also hope you're right because I was happy NOT knowing of any Lefty 4002 models. Back in the early 80's, a friend had a 4001 (i think '70-'72), a brand new 4003 and a 4002 (all right handed). For me, that was one of the best looking and meanest basses I had heard. I'm left handed and have a 4001 now and looking to get a new 4003. I know everyone in these forums has a favorite, but that 4002 was mine, though it wasn't "mine." The difference between "rare" and "never made" can be a good thing to know. Have you seen that burly one with the black hardware in the registry? It was good looking like that!
Al, good find. Thanks, and looking forward to JN:5-2012CE.

Re: Burning Spear
...on this vid http://youtu.be/3HG2CfvxR34 at 3:55 you can clearly see shark tooth inlay of the 3rd fret and that the headstock does not have any walnut wings: It's a heavily moded 4001LH played right hand!
...and at 1:44 you can see the pick guard has a fancy style extension to the upper horn, definitely custom made! So cool down, the 4002LH still has to appear in reality for its first time!
