Wild Flag - Rickenbacker 4xx Cameo
Wild Flag, official video for a single from their eponymous album.
Guitarist Carrie Brownstein (be still my beating heart!) sports a 4xx Ricky for the video. Live, (And I'd bet in the studio) she uses a Guild SG. She used a jetglo 330 for her work with Sleater Kinney back around 1990.
Unfortunately this video highlights one of the weaker songs from their album, which overall is a GREAT piece of music for fans of politically aware pop/punk/rock.
This video, though it doesn't sport any ricky content, is a much better representation of their sound, which is awesome.

Looks like a model 420. Those gals can rock! Thanks for posting that!

New album is great. I saw them last summer opening for Sonic Youth. They definitely rock live

Thanks for introducing them here-I really like them! Sort of a cross between the Breeders and Salem 66 (mid 80's, Boston). But they do have a sound of their own. Definitely a band I'd love to see live.

One of my top fave records that I had the pleasure to work on was The Magic City, a 1997 record by Helium, which was Mary Timony's band. She writes great songs and is a superior guitar player! Wild Flag really is a Supergroup!

Cool band, I'm a fan of most of Carrie's work.
Only complaint I have with them is that they seem to follow that cliche Riot Grrrl band formula without a bassist. Just lacks bottom end (which is another factor why the Breeders rule..).
Cool clip though, thanks Kira. Always nice to see someone rocking a vintage Ric.

Honestly, with a drummer like Janet Weiss, you've definitely got somebody holding the groove together. She's fantastic.
I was lucky enough to see S/K on their last tour. . . fantastic. Hopefully Wild Flag will swing up here through the boonies sometime.

+1 on the Wild Flag album. Love it.
I saw Sleater Kinney back in 2003, touring 'One Beat'. Great band, great show.
