Pic from TV appearance.

OK, kinda lame to start a thread with just one blurry phone pic but thought some might dig it. Played a few tunes on local TV yesterday.

That's my "TV/Radio" rig. All our regular backline is stored between gigs, so for (local)appearances on TV or radio we(guitarists) each bring amps from home so the band doesn't have to pay the crew to haul/set up/tear down the backline.

Smaller amps for smaller gigs, I say. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers actually downsized their stuff for a Jay Leno appearance in 2006. The guitarists (with a possibly disgruntled Mike Campbell) used the band's backline of Vox Super Beatles, while Benmont Tench used a Roland keyboard and Vox Continental organ, with his Steinway Grand and Hammond C-3 left for the big shows. Campbell is a huge fan of smaller tube amps. He could never really stand the Super Beatles, from what I've read.

For the topic at hand: How does that amp/stompbox combo sound, Ronn?

The amp sounds great and doesn't really need the Sansamp but it does add a bit of tube-emulated compression. I use the Sansamp with my stage rig too, an Ampeg B100R, for the same reason, and also for quick tone changes on the fly. Here's my stage set-up:
