R.I.P. Donna Summer

Post by xpitt »

Sad news , she started her career here in Munich singing in "Hair", met the producers of her biggest successes here. Beside her work in the studio she was singing with some local bands here in small clubs. She was an awsome singer with passion and soul. She will be remembered here and be missed deeply.

I heard the news, yesterday, pretty sad, indeed. :( I played some of her music in my first top 40 band, in the mid '70s.

I am saddened by her passing. The voice of an angel on earth has ascended to heaven.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I wasn't a big fan of disco music, but I did like some of the cool bass lines that some of the songs had, with real bass guitars, before everything went electronic. I'll also add that Donna Summer did have a great voice, amazing disco career and it is a sad loss for the music world. She passed on much too young. Rest in peace, Donna Summer.

Joey, I remeber her singing "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman" here in Munich in a small Club in the early seventies only accompanied by a big Hammond...that was incredible touching, chicken skin ...

Sorry to hear this. My band played at least a half dozen of the many hits that she had in the 70's. Along with Chic, her music was guaranteed to bring a steady stream of spandex-clad ladies to the dance floor. Beautiful voice. Rest in peace, Donna.

There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."

I'm not a disco freak by any stretch of the imagination, but I had a lot of respect for Donna. RIP to a legend
