That is wild! Looks like a finger ripper to me, but I am a skinny string guy. It must sound like Thor's Hammer through the right amp/speakers though!

This is VERY cool! I know you've been wanting a RIC 12ver bass for some time so as Joey would say..."Congrats and enjoy da bass!". As a side note, the shorter scale should alleviate some of the string tension. If it's set up properly with low action, it shouldn't be too hard to fret.
