Fireglo with BT???

Post by bassduke49 »

It may sound unappealing to most, but was it unappealing to all? Does anyone know of an example of a Fireglo bass fit with black trim (binding, pickguard, TRC) and black hardware (tuners, pickup surrounds, tailpiece, and strap pins) from the factory??? Apparently, back in the 1980s and '90s, you could order "reverse trim" on most models. We've seen Silver with white/chrome, White with white/chrome, Red with white/chrome, Jetglo with black trim, but a Fireglo with BT? Anyone? Pics?

I have seen at least one guitar with this configuration (a late 80's 360) but not a bass. Yet...

I can't say I've seen one, but I've certainly thought of putting a set of pickguard and TRC in either black or gold on my 4003. Both are attractive looks to me.

Thanks, but that's not really a factory "BT" job. The owner has simply substituted black pickguard and TRC. If one came from the factory with the option to have "reversed trim" it would have to be a Fireglo 4003 with black binding on body and neck, and black hardware (metal parts) in addition to the black pickguard and TRC.

Now THAT is a "reverse trim" Fireglo. Wonder if there were any basses done this way?

FG 4080's had black pickguards and TRC's from the factory, but white binding and chrome hardware, so not really BT.

In the archives (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=200784) I also found this 620 FG/BT -
