Have your tried different strings? Sometimes just a little tweak of each truss rod (no more than 1/8 to 1/4 turn) can help.

I havent tried the truss rods yet but I did change strings. Which way would you suggest turning the rods? Im pretty good with setting up a Fender but this is my first RIC. Thanks in advance.

Make a pencil mark on the rods before you turn them so you'll have a reference from before you started. Give them each a 1/8 to 1/4 clockwise turn (same amount for each). Give it a day or so and see if it works. A 1/8 turn in either direction shouldn't really mess with your setup if you need to try a counterclockwise turn. Be sure to use a 1/4" nut or interchangeable bit driver with a long shaft to make adjustments. No T handles or ratchet handles.

Thanks, I'll try that and see if it works.

OK, I got a $5 1/4" nut driver from the hardware store and turned the treble side 1/4th of a turn and the bass side 1/8th of a turn and BINGO! Worked like a charm. Thanks again!

I do think its kind of crummy of Rickenbacker not to supply the tool with the bass but . . . cest la vie!

Most people will never work on their own guitars. For just $5, you solved a problem yourself, inexpensively.
