I've been trying to do some digging on the changes for the 4001 during the mid 70's onward.
Were any changes to design/outputs of the pickups?
I know in the post about my newly acquired '77, it was mentioned (thanks again Ronald) that the bass/treble controls were moved closer together during late '76/early '77....was there any reasoning behind this? I did even notice!
I suppose I'm thinking of the more 'modern' 4001 era, post '73.
Or once the initial cosmetic changes occurred, was that it until the 4001 itself was discontinued?

That's great info, thanks!
I was trying to work out why my '77 has bags more treble...must be in the set-up as they have identical pickups, and both have the original capacitors intact.
