New Electronic guitar tuner- $19.95
The hour I spend every day playing now- priceless
Since I bought my 360, I cannot tell you how enjoyable guitar playing has become again. It's not that I didn't like playing before, but all I had really was a beautiful Guild D-15 mahogany. I didn't like trying bar chords, I wasn't willing to try new stuff, and I was stuck playing the same old songs that I have been playing for years.
For some reason, the Rick just fits right into my hands. The instant I picked it up at the Guitar show, it felt like home. I have never had that experience with a guitar before. I am playing bar chords and looking for new songs (I will never "rip off a lead lick"), and this is the best thing that could happen for my 13 year old son and I. He plays bass and I play rhythm and sing. It's a gas. He wants a new bass for Christmas and I wish I had the money for a 4000 series bass but he just isn't up for that expensive a guitar yet (he just started last Christmas with a Fender Squire...)
Has anyone else every had this kind of experience? I knew it was gonna be good, but to steal a line from Tom Petty "but never as good as I feel right now, and you're the only one that's ever known how..."

"Whatcha ya gonna do now, Rich?"
Patrick, now you need to get some chums together and be a band. Seriously, it's the best way to not only continue the feeling but to take the feeling on up.
To continue your line borrowing: "I knew that if I had my chance that I could make those people dance..." It's just about magic to me to combine my love for playing & singing with that of my bandmates and then to see the audience loving it just as much. Wow.

Fair price for the 360... I have 6 Rics and love playing the 360's however my favorite Ric to play is my 230GF... I stopped playing for 30 years and then one day pulled out my 1966 360/12 FG and rediscovered the joy of playing a Ric... Since then I've bought 5 more... However, in all fairness I must say my overall favorite guitar to play is my TERRY McINTURFF Glory Custom... But I believe this guitar is in a league all it's own...
Have fun Patrick and don't catch R.A.S.... It's an incurable disease...

Patrick, that's what it is all about. And the fact that you enjoy it with your son is even better. Music is a wonderful, uplifting thing. And if you can spend some time every day "getting away from it all" and enjoying playing and bonding with your son, that's classic. Those are times he will never forget, ever.
Lawton had a great point too. If you get to the point where you get a band together, look out. Your playing will grow faster than you ever imagined, and the high you get from playing and being tight with your band, as well as having people cheer for you and dance to your music is unbelievable. I felt that at our show last night and it's just magical.
Best of luck to you and keep on pickin!

'...it felt like home.'
That is exactly how I feel Patrick, in fact those were my very words just yesterday when I was talking to a client about guitars. My first Ric felt like it in 1978 & I have NEVER lost the thrill of playing them to this day. Rickenbackers are inspiring & exciting, they are my right arm, they are......home!
I'm off to the Ric room for a drool!
