Picked up this baby today - 4003 content

Post by EagleMoon »

Just picked up this bass today. Went into the music store just to look around (right! :)) and saw this sweet thing. Awesome neck on it. It's almost as thin as my old '74 4001. They also had one of the new Ruby red 4003's but this one trumped it big time. I've been looking at getting a Mapleglo for some time and this one just fell into my lap. Literally! :) Now for a pic.

Congrats -- that one is real nice ! :D
Although some RAS Enablers here on the RRF might encourage you to double-back to the store and bring home the new Ruby too, and make it a pair !!! :D

I thought about getting the Ruby, but the neck on it was quite a bit fatter than this Mapleglo, so it lost out. :)

Thanks guys. 8) Once I get some new strings on this baby it'll really sound great. The stock strings are kinda dead. Oh and a quick question. I'm thinking about getting one of those bezels covers. Any suggestions about the best one to get?

Congrats on the new 4003! The necks on the newer 4003's are super!! I have the tube ampology bezels on 5 of my 6 Rickenbackers. I like them that much. http://www.tubeampology.com or Chris a POTR sells them and the seller also sells them on ebay. I got the deluxe version.
