It's a March 1974 4001 with a black guard & TRC. Great-looking refinish. Too bad it's not in new condition anymore, though. And please remove those ugly control knobs, someone.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

They are red and the pair at the 12th fret is spaced wider than the newer ones. I like that look too.

so someone is slightly altered...it's a 4001 by any stretch of the imagination. I love those 74's...

That bass looks like the sickly dog they put a picture of on the letters from the ASPCA when they want a donation.

Well, it ain't a 4002 but it may be a stereo, at least that's where the knobs came from!
