Double Bound Fever Again !

Post by 8mileshigher »

I started the Independence Day celebration by succumbing to another dose of the Double Bound fever today ! !

So I justified scoring this JetGlo V64-12 by borrowing Paulie A's idea of having "matching" color 6 and 12 string Double Bounds to complement each other ....:D :D (Perfect justification to get another Double Bound, eh ? )

Now I need to get four Black-Silver Oven Knobs so this JetGlo 12er will "match" my six string WB.

It's not Red, White and Blue ---- but JETGLO ROCKS !

I am such an instigator; I feel terrible  .. . . . not really.

Congratulations, Rich! Gorgeous! :D
There is no reason to ever be bored.

Hang on, hang on, hang on...you have a FIREGLO V64 6-string, right?? :? :?:

Very nice, Rich. What year is this example from? There's just something about a solid color and double bindings...

Hope to give it a strum next month. Between your two V64 models, Paulie's Ruby C63, Collin's 365 "New Capri" and Dan-O's Carl Wilson, and not forgetting Gary's Townshend, McGuinn and Petty fireglo models, I have plenty to keep me happy this year! :D

Double bound remains the most attractive guitar Rick has ever done. That's not opinion- it's a scientific fact. :)

Yes, the V64 six string is FireGlo and that one now has an Ac’cent vibrato. Of course this V64 and my 370 WB are not a “match” per se, it’s just the JetGlo and Double Binding that these two share in common. The WB from 1981 has aged, cream binding whereas on today's new arrival, the binding is still one shade brighter white.

“Justification” and rationalizing is what one does when family budgets and RAS/Double Bound fever appear to be at a cross purposes.

It’s from March 1994. Yep, I agree, the contrast of Double Binding with Jet Glo (and other solid colors like AzureGlo, BurgundyGlo and the new Ruby finish) is so striking. My Double Bound FireGlo V64 is a great looking FireGlo, but the contrast of the Double Binding to the finish, especially on the sides of the guitar, is just not quite the same aura about it, IMO. That's why some say that JetGlo Rocks !

Nice grab Rich! I have a double bound itch that will be scratched soon as well... now I need to find a 360/12 OS, V64 or WB to go with the 6. A BG WB would be nice...

Nothing more beautiful than a double-bound Rick 360. Classic and Timeless.

A double-bound, six-string 360 is absolutely essential to the Rickenbacker product line.
