Janglebox Byrds 2, need help.

Post by idealassets »

I was adjusting the settings on my new Janglebox (new, just out of the box) and 2 of the larger knobs fell right off. I was very surprised to see that the chrome 1/4" spindles into the box had a slot into the top ends that the knobs fit onto. But the knobs do not match this slot with the holes into the knobs plain at the ends.

Each large knob has 2 very small allen screws that tighten onto the chrome spindle. So I tightened them so the knobs would not fall off again. Much to my surprise the knobs will not turn the spindles unless I loosen thew allen screws so much that the knobs are about ready to fall off again.

So how do I know how much the knobs are actually rotating the spiundles, or just slipping and never really adjusting anything? Do I have to pull all the knobs off, set them aside, and then just turn the chrome spindles so I can see where the slots are orientated? (The pointer on the knobs may not match the actual rotation of the spindle.

Has anyone else had this happen, and what do you do to make your Janglebox work like its supposed to?

Thank you,
Craig

Maybe send a PM to Steve Lasko. He's a member.

I've sent Craig simple instructions on how to reattach the knob.

Ok, I think I solved where the problem is. You have to take the knob and pull it back off the spindle about 3/32" so that when tightened on, and it turns it will clear the wafer-thin nut that holds the spindle to the top of the Janglebox.

With some bright lighting, and a little bit of fooling around with it, I could see what was causing the problem.

So hopefully everything is now working, and the pedal is back to functional, and looking good.
