or the auction pic... note that this one is strung traditional as is the potato head, and squire's would be oposite, but both headstocks are the same shape, just drilled differently for the machines.

had i known about the auction...this would have been mine and i would be having a 4008 bass sword fight with mr. gallo !!! :mrgreen:

Ron,

Thanks for posting the Entwistle pics.

Of ALL the basses that John had in his MASSIVE collection......that 4008 was/is my favorite!!!!!!!!
I have the Sotheby's Entwistle auction book........ANY guess as to how much that bass sold for??????

was about 7 grand usd. i have the auction sale somewhere printed out just after the auction.

What about a semi potato? (the production 4008 headstock was not as curvy as the 4003s/8)

Mashed potato perhaps?
