Here is a picture of the Fender Super Bassman along with the Fender 410 Pro Neo cabinet.
I had a good try last evening at rehearsal..... To be honest, it kicks serious Tone ! Enjoy !

Nice, Stephane! Needs more speakers.

Hey Jeff, a 410 is plenty for my needs at this time !!!! Although another 410 would be nice or a 115 on the bottom. This is a real rig and I will be satisfied for a long time, hopefully ! To see those tubes glowing is a pure beauty !!! I had the Fender Jazz Bass american deluxe ( a recent acquisition for me.... ) and it is nice too... My first time using a Fender product... A great Bass by all means and serves me for different purpose than the Ric. To be again real honest, the Rickenbacker 4001V63 through this rig is absolutely wonderful and never sounded as good !!!jps wrote:Nice, Stephane! Needs more speakers.

Didn't you feel the earth shaking yesterday ??? That was my V63 played through the new rig !

I use my 1994 4003 through my Hiwatt stack consisting of a 1973 DR103 Custom 100 into a 1x15 cab and a 2x12 cab....sounds fantastic, as you can imagine
.....
Occasionally, I'll play it through my Acoustic 370/406 2x15 rig which also sounds very healthy.

I had one of those too. Bought it with a summer's worth of pay, and lugged it to gigs for the next four years. I was always amazed at how I could stand in front of it and not think it was too loud, but if I moved 20 feet in front of it, it would nearly lift me off my feet!bassduke49 wrote:Ah . . . Acoustic. Back in 1975, I had the 371. The cabinet was like that one, but had only 1 speaker in it -- an 18" reverse loaded woofer. The head had sliding levers for the EQ. I think it was a 370 head with the 301 cabinet, hence the 371 combo name. I think; that was a long time ago. I remember the cabinet had a sticker on the back that said: WARNING! Sound levels within six feet of this enclosure may exceed 120 decibels. It sure did!
I used it with a '65 Precision Bass and a Dan Armstrong Lucite. Ah, the good ol' days...

I just picked up a new SWR headlite for a really good price. Will experiment and compare to my MB LM2. One first impression is the fan is a lot louder. Has a built in tube preamp/compressor.

... and if you lack the backbone and knees to carry the amp yourself, make your worthless "singer" help you carry it.
