So, and this is the "body" of my early 1967 360 (GB###) in fireglo with "f" hole...I think it's pretty unusual a 360 having both F hole and deluxe features..it's not a Rose Morris model but not "completely american looking" either
nice, isn't it?
oh... maybe i should have posted this picture in the Guitar Directory
well..looks like a model 365 since the instrument has the accent vibrato... i said 360 just because this is what you can read on the body if you remove the pickguard
Francesco, I love that 365S(I'd call it). The Smith book says something about a batch of 25 guitars going to an Italian dealer about then, I wonder if it is one of these.
yes I have read smith's book... there's something written on the wood under the pickguard..
360exp..i guess it means that export models used to have f sound hole
anyway it's amazing how smooth is the action and has the thinnest neck i've ever played (same neck width as the 4005 in the other picture i have posted)
i see that in your profile you owe a couple of 60s export models...smith said lot of them went to australia
I have a '65 1997 and now two '64 1999's. I picked the second one up this week after owning the other for 20 years. None like yours. There were export 4005's with f hole also.
4005s are so rare to find outside USA and expecially in countries like italy. I purchased mine in Los Angeles in 1992 during a holiday spent in the usa, after a research lasted almost one year involving several retailers in Italy and USA... Maybe it'd be easier now, searching through internet since most of the shops have a website... I am sure there are few 4005s with f sound hole but I think looks better with slash one since the body is wider than a guitar
