Ricks in the Far East.

Post by Kingbreaker »

I was lucky enough this summer to go on a trip to China for three weeks. (Fantastic experience!) Anyways, at night I didn't have a whole heck of a lot to do and so I spent a fair amount of time watching the Olympics on TV. I saw at least one commercial the featured a Rick very prominently - a JG 330 or 360. Also, there are a couple of Asian pop bands on the MTV equivalent using Ricks. It was pretty cool:)

I also got to do some window shopping in music stores in Hong Kong. One shop had a 325, a few 4003s, and a 620.

The only downside?

The 620's were selling for $3000 US, with the 4003 and 325 scaled proportionately. I didn't feel like paying customs on top of the retail price, so some wealthy HongKonger will get them. Oddly, Gibson 335s and LPs were priced very close to the US market values.

From what I have seen, Rics are aplenty in Japan, but in China, they are scarce.
