'67 Horseshoe Bobbin Conversion 6 To 4 Rebuild.

Post by wints »

Looking for someone who does a really good conversion of a 6 string bobbin into a 4 string version, using and maintaining the original appearance of the '67 bobbin. Any photo's appreciated...

Thanks in advance...

I don't want to ship it John. I did that once and it came back 9 months later! I have mailed Arnquist but haven't heard back from him.

Anyone?

Do you have any pic's of a conversion, threads?, as I thought that the 6 bobbin would be too tall and they have fully radiused ends, being not like the 4's.

Hey Andy -

I've done the process several times, for myself and others. Here are some pics of an 8-to-4 pole conversion I did - a little more involved than an 6-to-4 since the bobbin had to be cut down. I've done the 6-to-4 process a couple of times too, which is much easier. I recreate the little notched nub in the center, too. Will post pics of that detail when I can find some.

Drop me a PM if I can be of service!
