PSA, Sears & KMart DeHumdifier Recall

Post by wj350 »

I've used a Dehumidifier in my play room ever since living in NOLA, and still use it over here during the rainy season in Winter.

Didn't know how many of y'all use one as well, but thought I'd share this just FYI.

Sears, Kmart Dehumidifier Recall

Applies to certain units sold between '03-'09, there's apparently a fire/smoke risk.

Howard, apologies if this is the wrong venue, but I thought it might offer the most vis.

This is useful, as I may have two affected units. I will have to check the details on them. Thanks! 8)

Ouch. It seems that humidity is relative to a number of things. I always worry about these devices that sooner or later wear out with not always predictable results.

If I owned one of these I'd be steaming mad.

Peter, I'm surprised you didn't chime in sooner with your usual dry humor.

Eh, you guys are all wet!

Well, mine's affected. I get a whopping $75 back plus a coupon worth $25 at Sears to buy a new one.

Luckily, since we moved a couple of years ago to a dryer climate (gas or electric? ), it's just been sitting in the garage unused...

I would have blown in earlier Jason but I have been under the weather. Lots of highs and lows to contend with. :)

Well, I don't want to rain on your parade, and I don't know weather this will precipitate even more of these puns, but I forecast that we might get quite a flurry of responses, perhaps even a flood, creating pressure to get this thread back on track...
