We aimed for vintage pieces whenever possible. When #1 became available, we acquired it. We feel it is a beautiful tribute to George and The Beatles. Keep in mind, all mods are 100% reverseable. It is just another chapter in the guitar's history. The guitar itself has a history of mods. When Arden owned it, she had the "R" tailpiece added. We changed that back to original. We now own it and made mods which made total sense to us

Let's not assume that people are going to line up around the block to check out a guitar that.....none of the Beatles ever used?

The only people who would be really interested in that are people into guitars, and I would venture to say they'd be equally (if not more) impressed at the fact that it's the first Rickenbacker 12-string and that it was kept all-original.

I bet you the Smithsonian or the RnRHoF wouldn't turn a screw on anything in their collection to tart it up as something it's not.
The fact that you're willing to do that speaks volumes about you and your partner, Josh. Reversible or not...

Let me be as genuine as possible when I say, that this is fantastic. The issue is, however, wether or not the mods will be reversed or if the modifications will be left in place indefinitely. Surely any other vintage 360/12 would have gotten the job done, did it really have to be the first Rickenbacker 12 string? Its historic signifigance outweighs its attribution to one band, however influential that band may have been.

The first Rickenbacker 12 string guitar has no more in common with The Beatles then any other 360/12 that came after Harrisons, why go through the hassle and the expense to modify a guitar that has a place in history all its own?

I'd have to agree. Not wishing to be negative, but to me, I guess I don't really see the point either? I assumed the big reveal, would be the Arden 12 being featured in a TV show or Film or maybe there was going to be some sort of celebrity tie-in, something a little more high profile for that particular historic instrument. It's a nice collection, but somehow not as exciting as I expected the reveal to be. But I hope you're pleased Josh. I appreciate you can't please all of the people all of the time. To us passionate Rickenbacker fans, I guess in lots of ways the instrument is held in higher regard than the artist?

Frankly Josh, this guitar has no association with The Beatles. It is like saying a 1958 Hofner 500/1 has an association with The Beatles, or a Combo 850 does because it has somewhat the silhouette of a 325.

If the goal of this project was to have an accurate Beatle-guitar collection, you would have been better off to keep looking for a very-rare Fireglow 1964 360/12 O.S....it was most-certainly made with Harrison's influence on the market.

Then, your statement about a Rickenbacker 12-string having a Beatle-association would ring true. It doesn't with this guitar.

Yes. I remember hearing that record for the 1st time----it was mind-blowing to hear stuff like that being recorded before the days of Rock n' Roll.
