When we think of early Tull bassists, Cornick's probably the sound that comes to mind-using a Gibson EB2.
Hammond played on Aqualung to Minstrel In the Gallery.
I saw them live on the Brick tour, Hammond played a sunburst Jazz bass thru two Acoustic 360-361 amps.

Hammond adopted the name "Hammond-Hammond" as a joke, since both his father's name and mother's maiden name were the same.[2] He also joked in interviews that his mother defiantly chose to keep her maiden name, just like Eleanor Roosevelt.

I think I's add Andy West, Dave Hope (Kansas original bass player, Why is it no one mentions any Reggae bass Players like Family Man Barrett, or Sticky from Inka Inka? Bass holds down the forte in Reggae and is heard and felt calling Jah. Most of the Roots reggae are great bass players. They may not play Rics but they are still great bass players. My original 73 4001 had a great Reggae tone for calling Jah and it could get quite funky, too.

Two excellent points!
First, Andy West always knocked me out. So funky and creative with The (Dixie) Dregs.
And second, bass is truly the root in reggae. Thanks for bringing that up!

Although I actually cannot listen to Led Zeppelin for more than 30 seconds (overplayed by all my friends when I was younger), John Paul Jones is great too.

Laid it DOWN some tasty on Joe Jackson's "Look Sharp".

We all know the usual suspects who are mentioned numerous times, but like the last poster I'm giving a shout for Graham Maby. He's been a stalwart for Joe Jackson on most of his albums through the many genres he's covered. Like 'rickyfricky' I picked up on him in the late 70's on the 'Look Sharp' album then the 'I'm The Man' album (check out the track 'Friday'). I've seen Maby play many times with Joe's many band line ups, the last being a Joe Jackson 3 piece with piano, bass and Dave Houghton on drums, he's a talented player who plays many genres of music.
