Hi Werner,
I think installing a Bigsby is not a monstrosity at all. But like most things, it is a matter of personal taste.
I like the look and the functionality of the Bigsby Vibrato and like John Lennon too.
But has anyone experience in pinning the Kaufmann, maybe some Photos ?
I think this would help me too.
But anyway does anyone have the same tuning issues (tuning the treble side up , detunes the bass sides to a higher pitch !)

Thanks for any help !!

Peter

Hi,
I can see the disfunctionality of this Kaufmann ! If i turn the tuner of the low E i can see the high e vibrato side move !!!
What a complete **** !! But i must say, it is somehow cool looking, but i wanna play !
The Kaufmann of my first blonde 325C58 was a lot better in holding pitch !

Swapping the Kaufmann with a Trapeze is about as easy as it can get. Congrats, Peter. Hope you get this tuning thing sorted quickly!

John Lennon said at Hessys:
so yer gonna put it right here on it yer !
I got me bigsby yesterday and yeah good look and noooooo tuning issues any more. I put the burns knobs on her and i just have to wait for my bigsby bowtie bridge to complete it.
Photos coming soon when the change is finished.

When I first got my c58, the very first thing I did was remove the Kaufman and install a trapeze tailpiece. Once I had acquired my Bigsby b5 and bow tie bridge, I went for the full Lennon mods with the Burns knobs, etc. The Kaufman is dreadful. Remove it before it gouges the top of your guitar! They look neat, but they are worthless.

Yes mike you are right !

Unfortunately it had already damaged the top of the guitar ! Also did the Bracket for the Kaufmann which was installed to low !
Now the guitar is a dream to play !!
