I'm holding my friend Scott's 4003/5. It's a real piece of art. :D Wish I owned it!

All Photoshopped mods, except for the pickguard in the pic below, but if you'd also make the Jetglo a 5'er as well as fretless, now you're really speaking my language! :)

JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Can a 5 string mod be done to the '73 bass that is up for grabs in the For sale forum?

Yes, starting with the 4003 models, they have done a lot to strengthen the necks, which is even more important when adding a 5th string...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

More shots of that 5-string conversion in the works. It will receive a solid-color paint scheme; hence the gray surfacer. It's getting a Kahler bridge...

Next: paint and electronics. Assembly. Tuners will be lightweight Hipshots.

I just sold one of those Kahler bridges (4 string). They appear to have infinite adjustability and you can narrow the string spacing pretty tight. They do sit a bit high. I see you had to route out the footprint in order to compensate for a Rick's low neck.
