New JangleBox pedals

Post by Folkie »

Steve Lasko,

I think we're all pretty excited about the two new JangleBox pedals which are in production. You had said that the end of summer would be the target date. Are things moving as expected? Will RRF members have the first opportunity to purchase these pedals? Can you give us any more information?

Thanks,

Robert

Well, first of all thank you very much for your continued interest. I really appreciate it.

As with every JangleBox product, I always get antsy with the "final" PCB spin, and it's no different this time. For the pedal we had planned to release first, I asked our developer to completely rework the Gain from it's original function. I should be receiving the final prototype next week.

Another weird development is that, out of nowhere, a pedal idea we had back-burnered a year ago is now close to being completed. Our developer sent me a schematic last night, along with sound clips. I am very excited about this pedal. Ironically, it will now probably be released before the other two.

Yes, RRF members will be the first to know about all our new pedals (along with our Facebook fans — if you're on Facebook, please "like" us at http://www.facebook.com/JangleBox). And yes, we'll offer RRF members special introductory discounting like we did with the JB2 Byrds LE.

Finally, yesterday I announced to our dealers that we've suspended production on the original black JangleBox. Sales of the silver JB have so greatly surpassed those of the original JB that it makes better business sense for us to concentrate our USA assembly operation on the three new pedals. Plus, we're once again back ordered on JB2 Byrds and I'd like to build some inventory before the holiday buying season.

If you have a black JangleBox, I'd urge you to consider hanging on to it... All of our new pedals will be great stand-alone units, but two of them were designed specifically as enhancements to the original JangleBoxes. If nothing else, the black JB might now become a collector's item. 8)

Thanks so much for the update, Steve! So now we have three pedals to look forward to! 8) I'm sure we're all as excited as you are about that previously back-burnered pedal which will be going into production first. As always, it's a lovely courtesy to allow us RRF members advance orders and a discounted price. Now that you've piqued my interest, I can't wait to hear exactly what each of the three new pedals will do!

One is close, but I sent the proto back to the circuit developer for further refinement. It works pretty well as is, but I think it should dial in to its function more easily than it currently does.
One is awaiting the circuit board, but the breadboard proto sound clips were sensational. We're probably two weeks away from a final proto.
The one I consider the simplest of the three is driving me nuts. Why this thing wasn't completed three months ago is a mystery to me, and my patience is coming to an end. If I don't have a good proto in 30 days, the current developer will be relieved of his duties.

All three are being developed separately so it's not as if one is holding up another.

Thanks for the continued interest!

In my recent conversations with Steve Lasko there are 3 new JB's due out by Christmas. I'm sworn to secrecy, sorry. But, you're gonna want them!!!

 Unfortunately, I can't deny it! All I can say is we're getting close on two of them...

Anyway, there's a thread on the Byrds Folder where we have a really great deal for anyone who's considered buying a JB2 Byrds but hasn't yet. From November 23 to December 14.
