What are you plugging your 360 into?

My modified '77 SFDR. Vibrato channel is blackface spec minus bright cap, Normal channel wired to allow reverb and tremolo (and both channels now in-phase). Normal channel also has larger mid resistor and modified slope resistor. It has more gain, but I use a 12AY7 in V1 so it ends up being no louder than the vibrato channel, but with less shimmer and more mid grunt. I also rewired the dangerous ground switch as a variable NFB switch (sort of a three-position presence control) with black (plenty of NFB--cleanest), brown (less NFB--more grind), and tweed (no NFB for bright and greasy breakup). I removed the convenience outlet and put a 5-position rotary switch wired as a Vox style cut control back there. This amp is very versatile and can get classic shimmery Fender cleans and a whole lot more. I like it with my Ricks and everything else.

My 360 has an extra pup (it's a 370), but after some experimentation which I detailled elsewhere hereabouts, I settled on one of these, partly based on McGuinn's use of it's bigger sibling.

Phaez Jaguar head and 2x12cab usually. However I just picked up a Vox Valvetronix VTX150 Pro (i also have used the Vx blue Ad120vtx since 2003, and still have it). I gotta say his new version of this series is pretty cool. They have changedcthe 12ax7 tube in the Valve Reactor section to an EL84, and have upgraded the modelling engine. The tones are really, really good. The AC30 and JC120 models are damn accurate and very, very dynamic. It is 150 watts or less with a continuously variable power control, master volume arrangement (whisper to a " turn that thing down i can't hear my drums" roar at the twist of a knob). And it weighs 24 lbs!! Amp, guitar, footcontroller and cables all in one easy trip.

"94 Fender Blues Deluxe. Good lord! I've been playing through that amp for 18 years. I also have a Roland BC-30/210. It sounds pretty close to the Fender.

When I'm at home, I plug my 360-12WB FG ckbd into a new Vox Pathfinder with its stock speaker, and I've bridged the jumper switch inside of it so I can run an extension cab together with it (not either-or as is the factory wiring) with a gutted (yeah, I blew it up - long story) Fender Blues Jr. carcass used as a cab for a 1967 Jensen "Concert" model speaker as a mini stack.
(The "white paper" on the Vox output MOS-FET says it can run 4-ohms efficiently.)

On the rare time I gig out with it, I have my choice of a Fender Silverface Bassman "Export" head into a 2X12 cab with two more of the Jensen "Concert" speakers (with consecutive serial numbers), or my 1975 Marshall master volume 2203 into a 2X12 sealed cabinet with two Fender "special" speakers (Eminence copies of the older speakers)(converted from 6550's for use with either EL-34's or "big bottle" 6CA7's, which are like 6L6GC's with more cojones)

Yes, I have my choice depending on the gig: Vox, Fender or Marshall. Life is good.

Marshall Bluesbreaker....sparkling cleans and Marshall grunt with KT66s and Emi Red Fang alnicos. Still thdialing this one in....

'71 Fender Twin and 2003 Deluxe! Great outta both! You guys have some nice amps up there, and a pal of mine plays through that Peavy with his 50s Dan Electro and it sounds amazing!

I generally use a '76 SFDR with an Altec speaker or a Victoria Victoriette. My other amps include a Traynor YCV20WR and a Dr Z Mini.

Higgy I didn't know you used a Music Man 210-130. Those are great amps! In 1984, when I was attending the University of Wisconsin for Engineering Degree #1 (Nuclear Engineering - a VERY dead field), I was given a 210-65 (the little brother of your amp) as a loaner, while my Peavey Encore 65 was in the shop for warranty servicing (for the first of several times ). My guitar was a MIJ Squier Strat, that sounded absolutly killer through that Music Man - very aggressive (like a Fender Super Reverb on steriods [with a must have for me - a Master Volume control]). I briefly contemplated at the time, asking the guitar shop about trading my Encore 65 for the Music Man. I retrospect, I wish I had.

Yeah Ellen,its a great sounding amp,but my back can't handle the weight anymore

Going to sell it and get something much smaller, as i haven't gigged in a long while and probably never will again.

A little practice amp of 10 or 15 watts would be fine,hell,a 5 watt would be ok as long as its got some bottom end!

I will miss the tremolo though.

I can understand the weight issue with the Music Man. I remember the 65-210 I used being a bit of a load to lug. Good Luck in your amp search.

I hear your weight woe- My Twin is ungodly heavy- I've hauled around for shows for 6 years now, and every time I pick it up, it seems to have gotten heavier! I've always wanted a Music Man amp though.... the sound is so unique!

One night as I hauled my 70+ lb., 2X12 off stage, I came to the realization that the soundman only miked one speaker. In fact, soundmen only ever miked one speaker. That's when I switched to a 1X12 combo.

Play a 2012 360-12 through a '67 Band Master(Weber& Vint 30) and a '68 Bassman conversion( 2 x 10" Webers) rebuilt the amp to 864 bass channel, 763 normal and power supply.
