I use my Vox Amplug quite a bit. As others have noted, it sure does come in handy for those late night practice sessions. It can also be plugged into the audio output on your computer with a short 1/8" cable. If you have an instructional DVD you can play along with the video.

I have a Raven Labs PHA-1 that I run my Mac through the stereo line in on it, uses either an AC adapter or 2 9V batteries, for portable needs. It has also seen duty as a preamp for some recordings done with Rare Blend.

I use an older Eden N10 I found for $130. This thing is a fabulous value. It has a separate channel with volume and tone for my Ipod w/ l/r rca jacks, a headphone out, and a speaker on/off. I use this for bass, guitar with a pod, drum practice (yes my primary instrument) and last week I took it to a show and used it as a powered monitor for live use. Easily the most versatile unit I own.
