Newbie after his first RIC

Hi fellow Aussies,
Just thought I'd introduce myself to this fine forum.
I'm based in Sydney and looking to buy my first Ric

I'm originally a sax/piano player but the last 10 years I've been getting into guitars quite heavily.
I'm a Beatles fan of course so it was only a matter of time before I started looking to get my own Ric.
I recently bought a hand wired Vox AC15 (with blue alnico), and I love it.
I'm trying to get a 325c58 or 325c64 to start with.
(as I understand it, once you start, it's hard to stop? so my wife and I look forward to that

)

(BTW: What do You want to install instead the Kauffman?)

Heya! I'll be receiving delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
I'll send pics as soon as I get it.
Can't express how excited I am!!!

Not sure what mods (if any) I'll make at this stage, will wait to see once it arrives.
Quite sure it won't be my only ric though

When You want to play that thing, the Kauffman is the worst solution: It scratches the paint and it de-tunes the guitar even when You do not touch it.

My advice: use a trapeze tailpiece. It fits to the bracket plug and play literally and allows to play Your guitar without drilling new holes. The Kauffman is period correct scrap metal for the bag next to the case (maybe You want to sell the guitar in a few years), IMHO.

With the trapeze it is a "320C58". - THE shortscale of my dreams.

You just need one part, the tailpiece itself! This one:

The bracket is already on Your guitar! (If it is still original.)

No joke: Plug and play! Just a few minutes for an exchange and a big improvement.

Please be careful with the Kauffman. It has the habit of scratching the guitars surface, even when You use it carefully. It is possible that there are already scratches from putting the guitar into the case and closing the case. Some people say every C58 had a few scratches when it left the factory. I can not confirm nor deny.

BTW: The trapeze covers this area of scratches - a Bigsby B5, too.
