Re: My new '72 Fireglo 4001
I know they seem redundant, but I like different things about each of these basses:
1971 - love the walnut wings, the plexi pull, the cutaway bridge surround, but the pickups are not as powerful sounding at the 72/73.
1972 - love the fireglo shade, low action, straight neck, the plexi pull, and it's the cleanest of the bunch. Sonically it falls in between the 71/73.
1973 - this one is the most beat up of the three with a lot of wear on the back of the body and neck, but it has the most power, thinnest width at the nut, best feeling neck, and lowest action. I like the sound of this one the best, but it could just be the strings.

I was just responding to Woody's request for a group photo above. Didn't intend to provoke jealousy.

I think you're OK. We sometimes like to give each other a "hard time" about things, but it's all in good fun. Note all of the smileys and such. If anyone's jealous (and we kind of have to be with such a nice collection) it's in a good way because we really do appreciate what you've got and actually are happy for you, just wishing is was us...sys700 wrote:I was just responding to Woody's request for a group photo above. I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

With a triad like that it is inevitable.sys700 wrote:I was just responding to Woody's request for a group photo above. Didn't intend to provoke jealousy.

Jared, I've been trying to get in touch with you! I need portrait shots of eight bangers badly, and time is running out! Help, please! PM me!!!
