Tell your publishers to expect a lot of UK sales!
Once the book gets a mention in "Guitarist" "Guitar And Bass Magazine" and "Classic Rock" "Mojo" "Q" etc..
the orders will be rushing in!
Even people with a passing interest in Rock history will be interested in a copy without doubt.

My birthday is next June....anychance of speeding up the printing presses?

Sorry, no chance of "speeding up" the publishing process now. I plan to deliver it early just in case there are technical problems with the layouts, photos, etc., but their schedule is set and I have no control over it. That's not to say that they may get it done ahead of time (or even later), but I have no control over it once I deliver.

I just finished "converting" the 4005 chapter over to InDesign. It's not really a conversion, more of a rebuild following my old layout. Hey, Simon Mole! You and your Entwistle 4005 story take up a whole page!

I'm going to try to "convert" at least a chapter a day for the next week or so. Then I can concentrate on building one of the biggest chapters: the 4003. Lots of good photos for that one!

Yeah, there is supposed to be an e-book issue as well, coming out around the same time as the softcover "traditional" book. I'm not up on the e-readers, but a standard Kindle is just "black and white," right? It's just a non-backlit LCD screen, right? That would be just fine for novels and such. For something that is graphix heavy, the Kindle Fire is back-lit and in color, right? And then there is the iPad and others. Somebody fill me in here on e-books, please.

My wife has a basic Nook and it's in B&W and not backlit. She mentioned to me that there are either other versions of the Nook that are backlit or other devices are backlit. So, expect a range of features - most books would be fine for me in B&W (if I ever were to use such an infernal device), but obviously this book needs the full color treatment.

There are also a huge number of Kindle Fires (and Fire HDs). I have 3 Fires and 1 Fire HD, as well as an original b&w Kindle.

These are essentially color tablets. With the ability to display color books.

Also, there are kindle readers on iOS (iPhone) and Android devices.

The difference is essentially the difference in a publisher printing in black and white or color. Different papers, processing, etc.

When a publisher decides to publish an ebook, it has the ability to choose color or b&w... just like on a physical book.

I believe some day eReaders will be generally good enough to support a book like Paul's but the vast majority of people, even Kindle (Touch) owners like me, will probably want this in print for now. I have several books on my Kindle that have figures and images--first two that come to mind are my mixing and mastering references and my copy of The Selfish Gene--but those don't require anywhere near the richness and resolution that Paul's book will. I would say an eBook should be done, but not right off the bat.

All the best Paul, and great to see the mounting interest/excitement every post on the book's progress generates here - well done on a mammoth project - we're clearly all wishing it was July (OK we do that ANYWAY in the UK due to the weather, but you know what i mean.....!)

As a HUGE, major John Entwistle fan....I want to ask, How does that 4005 feel, play and sound??????
(Chris Squire is my favorite Rock bass guitarist of all time, BUT, John Entwistle IMHO was THE pioneer "Bass Guitarist")
